Music licensing

citizen.stream is the platform; your organisation is the broadcaster. Before commercial music goes on air you need two licences in most countries: one for the songs and one for the recordings. Speech, your own recordings and commissioned idents need none.

Online-only streams usually need a webcasting licence from each society. Broadcasting on DAB or FM needs a licence from the regulator as well. citizen.stream keeps a full playback history for every channel, which is what the societies ask for in returns.
